The world is divided into four nations: Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Air Nomads, and Fire Nation. Representatives of each nation possess abilities to control their respective element and call themselves Waterbenders, Earthbenders, Airbenders, or Firebenders. Only the Avatar is the master of all four elements. Their task is to maintain balance between nations and preserve world order. Once, the leader of the Fire Nation, the Fire Lord, started a war to conquer the other nations. The responsibility to save the world fell on the shoulders of a twelve-year-old Airbender named Aang. He discovered that he is the Avatar and embarked on a dangerous journey with his brave friends from the Water Tribe, Katara, and her brother Sokka. Aang must master all the elements, face numerous challenges, overcome his fears, and defeat the Fire Lord to stop the war and restore balance in the world.
