Les événements se déroulent autour d'un bâtiment fictif appelé Arkonia, situé dans l'Upper East Side. Cette maison est assez prestigieuse pour que Sting lui-même y vive, mais peut-être seulement après avoir atteint le sommet de sa carrière. Charles (Steve Martin) et Oliver (Martin Short) traversent des moments difficiles. Le premier était autrefois un célèbre procureur, que tout le monde a maintenant oublié, et le second est metteur en scène à Broadway. Les deux hommes se trouvent actuellement dans un état où ils veulent s'évader quelque part en raison des problèmes quotidiens et des réflexions sur la futilité de l'existence. Les hommes trouvent du réconfort dans un podcast criminel et se précipitent vers leurs gadgets chaque soir pour ne pas manquer un nouvel épisode.
